Top three names for Cavs are George Karl, Lionel Hollins and Mark Jackson…

I say add John Calipari’s name to that list too.

@WojYahooNBA: The Cleveland Cavaliers are aggressively mining the college ranks in their coaching search, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

And if Calipari takes that job you can be sure LeBron’s return surly to follow.  Especially if he and the Heat fail in their attempt to 3 peat in what is shaping up to be a rematch of last year’s Finals.

It is well documented that LeBron cares very much about his legacy as it compares to Jordon, Magic, Bird and Kobe.  You just know he wants to be seen above or in the same light as these NBA greats.  It seems Miami chances of a 3 Peat are reduced because of this Machine looming in the Finals, the San Antonio Spurs.  Spurs are better and more balanced than last year, while Miami’s supporting cast is slightly worse.

Stephen A. Smith says the number one player LeBron wants to trade Wade for is Carmelo Anthony.  LeBron has always wanted to play with his best bud Melo.  And with both LeBron and Melo opting out this coming July and with Cleveland winning the top pick in the 2014 NBA Lottery, the stars are aligned for his return home to Cleveland.  Carmelo loves New York and he respects James Dolan, however knowing Cleveland could supply New York with Andrew Wiggins, his decision to leave New York and play with LeBron is that much easier.

John Calipari “Are you kidding me? Have a chance to coach the best player in the world? Yes, I would love to coach him. But what’s happened is our careers are criss-crossing without crossing.  I’m not in a position where I would leave Kentucky right now. I’m not sure whether this is his last contract, or his next-to-last contract. But I would tell you if I had a chance to, I would absolutely.”

Calipari added about the Cavaliers organization and owner Dan Gilbert in general: “The great news for the city of Cleveland is you have a great organization. There are teams that are trying to make money. There are teams that are just trying to get by. You have an organization there — it’s not about money for them. It’s about bringing a championship to Cleveland and what that means to the city of Cleveland.”

As a Brooklyn Nets fan I hope none of this happens, I hope Bron-Bron stays with the Miami Heat, this way Brooklyn has a chance.  The East does not want to see LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Carmelo Anthony and John Calipari on the same team next season.
